COVID-19 prevention measures

At Volcano Teide the safety of our customers and employees is a priority and therefore we have adopted a series of measures to ensure that your experience is safe and enjoyable.

Volcano Teide anti COVID-19 protective measures

The COVID-19 prevention measures described on this page are compulsory, and aimed at ensuring both your safety and the safety of others.

Our staff will refuse access to the Teide experience to anyone who fails to comply with these measures—and anyone who presents symptoms associated with COVID-19. In this case, the cost of the booking will be refunded.

  • Compulsory use of masksDuring all activities, and in public areas, the use of masks is compulsory.

  • Compulsory disinfecting of hands before entering the cabin and facilitiesWe will provide a water-alcohol gel for this purpose. Dispensers of the gel will be placed at various points in our facilities to ensure appropriate hand hygiene.

  • Minimum social distancing requirementIn public areas, a signage system on the floor will indicate the minimum distance of 1.5 metres to be observed when queueing.

  • Temperature-taking before entering the cabinBefore the activity begins, participants will have their temperature taken. Anyone whose temperature is above the recommended level will be refused entry by our staff, and the cost of their booking will be refunded.

  • Footwear cleansing matsIt is compulsory to use the mats impregnated with a disinfectant solution that you will find at various locations within our facilities.

  • Limited capacity in each area of our facilitiesIn accordance with current regulations, we have established a maximum capacity for each area of our facilities.

  • Limited cabin seating capacityIn accordance with current regulations, we have limited the maximum cabin seating capacity.

  • Regular disinfection throughout the dayCable Car’s cabins will, along with the rest of our facilities, be subject to regular, thorough and effective disinfection to ensure the highest possible level of hygiene.

  • Cabin ventilationWe have replaced the windows of our cabins; the windows will remain partially open during every trip, in order to ensure continuous ventilation.

  • Trained and properly equipped staffOur staff has undertaken COVID-19 prevention training and are equipped with the necessary protective equipment.

  • Digitalised audio guides, brochures and other physical resourcesWe have committed to digitalisation, and to minimising the use of printed brochures, which will only be distributed on an individual basis. Customers can access digital versions of brochures and audio guides.

These preventative measures will be modified in the light of the changing situation, but always in accordance with the recommendations of the relevant authorities.

Your safety is our number-one priority as you enjoy your visit to Mt Teide. At Volcano Teide, we strongly urge you to:

  • Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face.
  • Keep a safe distance from other people.
  • Wear a mask in public areas, following the correct procedure for its use.
  • Avoid touching easily-contaminated surfaces.
  • If you have any symptoms, please don’t place the health of your family and others at risk. Do not leave home.
  • If you feel unwell during your journey, you must contact the health authorities on arrival at your destination.
  • Dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided. We are located in a National Park with a fragile ecosystem that we must protect.
