Description

An excursion to Mount Teide with cable car included that has everything you need

On this organised half-day excursion to Mount Teide, whose price includes return tickets for the cable car, you’ll discover Teide National Park: the most visited national park in Europe. You’ll also be visiting the park in a sustainable way.

Discover astounding landscapes from the comfort of a bus with an official guide. Reach the heart of Tenerife on a wonderful journey by road through Canary Islands pine tree forests and typical Tenerife villages on your way to enjoy a thrilling volcanic experience.

Admire the volcanoes behind Tenerife’s most recent eruptions and learn about how the Canary Islands were formed.

Enjoy spectacular views of Tenerife and some of the neighbouring islands on this excursion to ascend Mount Teide

Our half-day excursion to Mount Teide with cable car includes tickets up and down the volcano so you can climb to an altitude of 3,555 m and be amazed by the spectacular views of Tenerife and some of the neighbouring islands.

When the cable car leaves you at the top station, you can choose which views you’d like to enjoy:

  • Admire Siete Cañadas and the Ucanca valley from La Rambleta viewpoint
  • Follow the La Fortaleza trail and enjoy spectacular views of northern Tenerife
  • Choose the Pico Viejo viewpoint trail and admire views of southern Tenerife with the impressive 800-m-diameter Pico Viejo crater at your feet and, if the weather permits, the islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma on the horizon.

Come on a tour and visit Mount Teide in a sustainable way

Forget the car and contribute to a sustainable Teide. By choosing group transport you’ll help to beat overcrowding in the vehicle parking zones inside the National Park which, as a conservation measure, are small and unsuitable for expansion.

You should be prepared for extremes in weather, both heat as well as cold, depending on the time of year in which you enjoy this half-day excursion to Mount Teide with cable car.

Half-day excursion to Mount Teide with cable car

Teide Cable Car is located within a protected national park and therefore we must follow a series of basic rules of civic behaviour and respect of the natural environment, such as not littering or taking rocks, plants or animals. Please remember that it is prohibited to make fire, loud noises or to camp.

  • People with cardiovascular conditions, pregnant women, and children under the age of 3 are not allowed on the Cable Car, because of the risks posed to their health by the altitude.
  • In accordance with current regulations, persons with any physical disability or motor impairment are not permitted to make the ascent by cable car, because of the potential risks if the vehicle has to be evacuated.
  • It is essential to bear in mind that in the event of the failure of the cable car system due to unexpected technical reasons, passengers already at the upper station will have to make their descent on foot and using steep mountain paths.
  • Suitcases and large bags are not permitted.
  • The stay at the upper station is limited to one hour. Those visitors who have a permit to access the crater can extend this limited time up to 2 hours to complete the activity.
  • It is necessary to produce the booking confirmation, either printed or displayed on a mobile device.

Reservations may be cancelled or the date may be changed free of charge.

In the event that weather conditions impede the operation of the cable car for the ‘Half-day Teide Tour with Cable Car’ activity, the price of the cable car return ticket shall be reimbursed at the following rates: Adults €27.00 (non-resident) or €13.50 (resident); Children €13.50 (non-resident) or €9.50 (resident).

Date changes are valid for 1 year provided that the vouchers have not been redeemed. Any change of date or cancellation of the activity must be made within a period of no more than 30 days from the date of the initial booking. Up to 3 date changes are permitted.

Check our Terms and conditions for detailed information on other reasons for cancellation.

Teide Cable Car facilities are perfectly equipped, including a shop, a café and a waiting room with Wi-Fi, among others, so that you can enjoy while you stay here.

The base station

The Teide Cable Car base station is perfectly accessible by road and is located at 2,356 m above sea level.

Its modern facilities are equipped with two cabins that travel to the top in under 8 minutes and can hold a maximum of 44 passengers, although for the comfort of our customers, we usually do not take more than 37 people on board.

The views from the base station allow you to behold the spectacular peaks surrounding the Teide volcano.

The base station offers visitors a relaxation area, café and buffet restaurant with impressive views over Teide National Park as well as a souvenir shop and public toilets. This is also the perfect place to find out about the different routes and trails you can do from the upper station.

The upper station

The Teide Cable Car upper station is the starting point of three spectacular trails at the summit of Mount Teide , which are directly accessible from a small hall from where you can walk outside. It has Wi-Fi, toilets and the highest public telephone in all of Spain.

Although there is not a café in the upper station, you will have vending machines at your disposal with drinks and non-perishable food such as snacks.

We recommend that you come prepared for all weather conditions since the upper station is at an altitude of 3,555 m.

Parking

Avoid the car. Choose collective transportation. It is important that together we do what we can to counteract overuse of the vehicle parking areas in the National Park. As a conservation measure, they have been kept to a small size, and they cannot be extended. If you finally decide to arrive by car, please do so after 1.00pm.

The Teide Cable Car base station has a free car park with 220 parking spaces.

It is usually open to public from 8.00am to 6.00pm. In July, August and September, until 8.00pm, and in October, up until the clock change, until 7.00pm.

Outside these hours, the car park is closed and the entry and exit of vehicles is not allowed.

Shops

The base station’s facilities include an information centre and a shop.

Restaurant / Café

The base station offers visitors a relaxation area, café and buffet restaurant with impressive views over Teide National Park.

Toilets

There are public toilets at both the base station and the upper station, which remain open during the opening hours of the facilities.

In case of discount tickets for children or local residents, a supporting document is required to prove entitlement to discount.

Where to find us

When making your reservation, please indicate which hotel you are staying at and we will send you an e-mail with the pick-up point and time.

Very well organized and unforgettable experience.

2020/02/27

We were a small group, only 8 people, which meant we had good space in the bus. Departure from Puerto de la Cruz was delayed because the guide had not been informed that one pickup-point had cancelled. That meant less time on Teide. But all in all it was a good your and a nice guide

Good service, nice personnel; more time on the top would have been nice.
