Description

Ascending Mount Teide by cable car is an unmissable excursion during your holiday in Tenerife. And to make it even more special, add a delicious brunch with the world beneath your feet to your expedition. A real thrill!

Enjoy one of the best brunches in Tenerife

You’ll have brunch in the restaurant of Teide Cable Car base station—it has views over a volcanic landscape with incredible shapes and colours that look like they’re from another planet. Surprising outlines, ochre and black tones and plant life found nowhere else are all waiting for you on high on Mount Teide.

Enjoying brunch in the highest restaurant in Spain and ascending Mount Teide by cable car is the icing on the cake of an unforgettable trip.

And if you’re looking for a special gift and haven’t decided on one yet, we’d like to add that giving someone a sky-high brunch in Tenerife is a guaranteed win.

We’ve created two brunch menus with dishes that are a nod to typical regional recipes; both are varied and wonderfully appetizing. You’ll be pleased to know that vegetarian options and a children’s menu are also available. Check the detailed menu below to choose the brunch that suits you best.

+ Information

You can view available dates and times for brunch when you make your booking.

You can also choose the order that you do the activities: ascend by cable car first and then have brunch at the booked time, or have breakfast first and use your cable car ticket afterwards. Booking staff will contact you to find out your preference and book your ascent time.

One thing you should bear in mind for planning purposes is the Teide Cable Car timetable. You can check the cable car opening times here.

The stay at the upper station is limited to one hour. Those visitors who have a permit to access the crater can extend this limited time up to 2 hours to complete the activity.

You should be prepared for extremes in weather, both heat as well as cold, depending on the time of year in which you use your Teide Cable Car tickets.

What clothes to wear to go up Mt Teide

Our recommendations:

  • Wear warm clothing and proper footwear.
  • Protect yourself from sunstroke.
  • Due to the elevated luminosity, wear sunglasses.
  • Take plenty of water on hikes.

Teide Cable Car is located within a protected national park and therefore we must follow a series of basic rules of civic behaviour and respect of the natural environment, such as not littering or taking rocks, plants or animals. Please remember that it is prohibited to make fire, loud noises or to camp.

  • People with heart problems, pregnant women, and children under 3 are not allowed to ascend by cable car due to the risk that high altitude poses to their health. If you have any health problems, consult your doctor before planning your visit or booking your Teide Cable Car tickets.
  • In accordance with current regulations, persons with any physical disability or motor impairment are not permitted to make the ascent by cable car, because of the potential risks if the vehicle has to be evacuated.
  • It is essential to bear in mind that in the event of the failure of the cable car system due to unexpected technical reasons, passengers already at the upper station will have to make their descent on foot and using steep mountain paths.

You must show up at the Cable Car boarding area with your ticket, either printed or on your mobile phone, 20 minutes prior to the time slot specified on your ticket, although we recommend that you show up at the premises of the Cable Car prior to the boarding time, in order to have enough time to park, etc. If you arrive late you will lose the right to board.

It is necessary to produce the booking confirmation, either printed or displayed on a mobile device.

Reservations may be cancelled or the date of the activity may be changed free of charge up to 24 hours prior to the activity. After this period, 100% of the amount will be charged.

In the event that weather conditions impede the operation of the cable car for this activity, the price of the cable car return ticket shall be reimbursed at the following rates: Adults €37.00 (non-resident) or €14.00 (resident); Children €18.50 (non-resident) or €9.75 (resident).

Date changes are valid for 1 year provided that the vouchers have not been redeemed. Any change of date or cancellation of the activity must be made within a period of no more than 30 days from the date of the initial booking. Up to 3 date changes are permitted.

Check our Terms and conditions for detailed information on other reasons for cancellation.

Teide Cable Car facilities are perfectly equipped, including a shop, a café and a waiting room with Wi-Fi, among others, so that you can enjoy while you stay here.

The base station

The Teide Cable Car base station is perfectly accessible by road and is located at 2,356 m above sea level.

Its modern facilities include two cars. The ride up to the summit lasts 8 minutes.

The views from the base station allow you to behold the spectacular peaks surrounding the Teide volcano.

The base station offers visitors a relaxation area, café and buffet restaurant with impressive views over Teide National Park (you’ll enjoy your brunch here) as well as a souvenir shop and public toilets. This is also the perfect place to find out about the different routes and trails you can do from the upper station.

The upper station

The Teide Cable Car upper station is the starting point of three spectacular trails at the summit of Mount Teide, which are directly accessible from a small hall from where you can walk outside. It has Wi-Fi, toilets and the highest public telephone in all of Spain.

Although there is not a café in the upper station, you will have vending machines at your disposal with drinks and non-perishable food such as snacks.

We recommend that you come prepared for all weather conditions since the upper station is at an altitude of 3,555 m.

Parking

Avoid the car. Choose collective transportation. It is important that together we do what we can to counteract overuse of the vehicle parking areas in the National Park. As a conservation measure, they have been kept to a small size, and they cannot be extended.

The Teide Cable Car base station has a car park.

Shops

The base station’s facilities include an information centre and a shop.
