Additional Mount Teide cable car opening times

Teide cable car also runs at sunset—in addition to the standard Mount Teide cable car opening times—and can carry a maximum of 90 people at this time.

There are two ways to enjoy this special service and each one is a fantastic opportunity to upgrade a standard trip:

  • Sign up for our Cable car at sunset experience and enjoy the chance to watch the sun set at an altitude of 3,555 m as the shadow of Teide falls across the Atlantic, with Gran Canaria in the distance. Join a guided hike along a stunning trail around the volcano to the Pico Viejo viewpoint, gaze into its colourful crater, and spot the islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma out to sea.
  • Choose our Sunset & Stars activity which includes the Cable car at sunset experience plus transport from your hotel for small groups (optional), stargazing at an altitude of 2,356 m with Starlight guides and long-range telescopes and, to top it all off, a dinner of typical Canarian food.

More activities with cable car included

Here’s a quick refresher of all the information we’ve covered so far on our cable car activities:

  • Stargaze with long-range telescopes and Starlight guides from the cable car base station after ascending to an altitude of 3,555 m by cable car to watch the sunset.

But wait—that’s not all we have to offer. There’s more:
